(This picture was shot at a "Bottle Tree Farm" in Helendale, CA, a near-abandoned town where a newer freeway bypassed the famous old Route 66. The owner/artist of the property, Elmer, was happy to let the girls run around his property naked…)

How long have you been involved in photography already? How did it all start?

I have been a fine art photographer for just over 10 years. It started when I apprenticed to famed photographer Michael Nakayama, and I took over the studio after he passed away.

How does your environment and friends react on your art? Are there also critical voices?
My friends still wonder how I make a living taking photos of naked women, and no matter how many gallery showings or book signing tours I go on they haven’t quite grasped how famous I am in the art community. I have a few critics from outside the art circle, but very few to none in the areas it matters.

How do you find your models?
At this point in my career my models find me; actively seeking me out and flying or driving from many different places to my studio in Las Vegas, NV to work with me.

Where can we see in the future? Any vernissage in the pipeline?
I have a solo show in Las Vegas early next year at the FunkHouse Gallery, and in Spring I have some work in the "Inter-Expo" art show in Lodz, Poland. Then in June I have a group showing back in Las Vegas at the Apparatus Gallery. I also have my second nude photobook coming out in early 2008 entitled "Abandoned."

What do you think is the meaning of art? And what is the meaning of life…?
The meaning of art, like the meaning of life, is different for everybody. For me, they are both the same: To celebrate the diversity and beauty that is all life, and to share it with others!

The shot with the bottles is funny and has a totally fresh and creative style. Never seen such a kind of art.

    Hello Richard Rasner,
this blacklight shot is pretty amazing!

    Richard Rasner

Indeed it is Photon! Although many have done blacklight work, I *believe* I am the first to do it with these invisible inks which are made custom for my studio.

    Photon

    Hello Mr. Rasner,

Is this blacklight technology with the invisible ink your invention?

    The effect is dramatic!
    Thank you for this.

beautiful, I love the colors, and the diversity of the photos, I love it when people have properties where they will let girls run naked on them!!! ;)

The girls with the bottle shot is bizarre – and cool! The girls seem to have had a pretty fun afternoon. Didn’t they?

    Memorix

Wow the artist himself really does respond, I appreciate this very much!
I have thought of the use of a somewhat similar blacklight/UV technique, but I guess it’s pretty much alot of work..

Thanks for this information. Take care.

The splattered photo is part of my blacklight series. The models is covered in invisible ink (100% invisible to the naked eye under regular lighting conditions) and then surrounded by several UV sources so that she flourceses.

    Hi Richard,

What kind of colors did you use in the Splattered-photo?
And what light? Ultraviolet or blacklight or something?

    Richard Rasner

Thank you for the feature! If anybody else has any questions they would like to ask they can comment here or message me at info@uniquenudes.com

    Cheers!

Rasner apparently masters a variety of different styles.

    I like “Gasp” and “Splattered”.

Gasp! Really cool photos! What an idea to put those bunnies between bottles…
